Women Affected by Russian Aggression Commemorate Mother’s Day together with TBC Fund

TBC Fund congratulated pregnant women affected by the August conflict on Mother’s Day.

A special event was organised at Vake Branch of TBC Bank, where one of the Co-founders of the TBC Fund, Mr. Vakhtang Butskhrikidze spoke about the activities of the Fund and handed over symbolic presents to the future mothers.

The invited ladies are beneficiaries of a long-term project aiming at assisting women who were pregnant during the August conflict and still are pregnant, or have already delivered. Over 2,000 beneficiaries of the project receive monthly allowance. The total budget of the project is GEL 1.5 million.

TBC Fund was launched by TBC Bank on 13 August 2008 to support the victims of war. The Fund implemented its first phase of emergency humanitarian activities in August-September of 2008, assisting displaced children, pregnant and breastfeeding women with basic living conditions.

Within the frameworks of a month-long project, up to 6,700 children, youth, breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women were provided with food products, hot meals, baby food, hygienic kits and basic household items.
