TBC Fund Opens School for IDP’s in Tserovani settlement

A grand opening of a new public school built and equipped by TBC Fund for the chikdren affected by the 2008 war was held in Tserovani IDP settlement on September 14.

Founder of TBC Fund Mamuka Khazaradze cut the ribbon together with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who also attended the ceremony.

The construqtion of the Tserovani School was carried out within the framework of the long-term projeqt of TBC Fund. The school is meant for 1000 pupils and covers 5 600 square meters. The construqtion and aquipment of the new school cost GEL 4.5 million.

Especially for The Tserovani School famous Georgian artists Keti matabeli and Gia Gugushvili created a panel ‘’Love Has Built’’. This is The first panel-collage in Georgia, which is distinguished by the fact that the first layer of panel includes the schemes of foundations of Georgian churches.

TBC Fund was initiated by TBC Bank on 13 August 2008 with a contribution of GEL 5 million, and with an aim of implementing iong-term and wide scale projeqt to support child victims.

During 3 month the initiative was followed by a huge resonance and the volume of the contributions by individuals and legal entities has reached GEL 8 million.

The second significant and long-term projeqt of the TBC Fund, along with Tserovani School Construction, is supporting affected pregnant women and newborns. The project aimed at responding to basic needs and filling the shortage of financial resources and covers over 2, 000 monthers and equal number of newborns. Total budget of the project GEL 1.3 million.
